The Photography 20/20 Compendium investigates the past 20 years of photography in interviews, panel discussions, critical essays, photographer presentations, and more. As an initial point of departure, CENTER will guide the 20/20 Compendium programs with three primary lines of inquiry:

A collection of essays will provide critical analyses on the past, present and future of lens-based media. Contributions from a curator, an editor, and a scholar will offer research-based perspectives on the field, its relation to sociopolitical movements and the evolution of lens-based media.

The Photographer Presentations will be hosted virtually in 2020, allowing us to document and share the presentations with global audiences. The diverse works of this year’s award winners will be shared in a presentation format, followed by a moderated discussion with Mary Statzer, Ph.D., Curator of Prints and Photographs of the University of New Mexico Art Museum.
